Welcome to St. Luke School,

Our school community believes that excellence happens on purpose. In order to be high performers we must practice, receive feedback, and keep on practicing. We learn from frequent and actionable feedback. Excellence is achievable by all. Perfection, on the other hand, is God’s business. Excellence is a continual process of transformation. Multiple studies show that students who believe that their intelligence can grow based on effort and persistence score higher than their peers. In a successful classroom community, there is a sense that everyone can achieve.

Our school community believes that service leads to discipleship. In order to find ourselves, we need to lose ourselves, and we lose ourselves by giving ourselves to others. Unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives. We can be of service every day in our school. We can help a teacher carry recess equipment or we can hold the door open for a classmate. Being of service to others brings true happiness. Service opens the door to new levels of empathy, curiosity, and connection.

Our school community believes that our joy is centered in Christ. What we celebrate matters deeply to us. We celebrate birthdays and feast days honoring saints. We celebrate athletic victories, academic achievements, and virtuous behavior. Every week we celebrate Mass as a community. We also celebrate inside our classrooms and other spaces around the school throughout the year. Joy is a state of mind and a way of being.

At St. Luke School we educate young scholars and form future saints. Thank you for visiting our school community and we look forward to learning more about you too.

God bless,

Dr. Aránzazu Ascunce
