Carl Jung
“The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.”
KINDERGARTEN PHILOSOPHY
The Kindergarten program at Saint Luke builds off the preschool philosophy of Learning through Play. In addition, we employ a “whole child” approach that focuses on the mind, body, and spirit. From the “mind” perspective, we have a strong academic curriculum and that balances play and structure towards learning. From the “body” perspective, we balance physical exercise with social-emotional learning. From the “spirit” perspective, we embrace our Catholic identity and build a foundation of strong character and ethics in our children.
Kindergarten is a full-day program, a typical class size ranging from 15 to 22 children, led by a certified teacher and full-time teacher’s aide. We are differentiated from other Kindergarten programs through our innovative philosophy (see graphic), our dedicated faculty, and our amazing parent community that engages heavily in the education of the children.

Our Academic Curriculum follows the guidelines of the Arlington Diocese. We also focus heavily on the STREAM framework (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and Math). Combined with our focus on Social-Emotional Learning, we provide a very comprehensive program to prepare your children for Elementary education.
